Therapeutic communication is one of the nursing intervention for patients with violent behavior. This study aimed to identify the relationship of communication and risk of violent behavior in schizophrenic patients. This study used a descriptive correlational with a cross-sectional design, which involved 68 patients with schizophrenia who were selected by consecutive sampling technique. The instrument in this study used a therapeutic communication checklist and observation sheets for changes in violent behavior. The results showed that as many as 35 patients (51.5%) who received good therapeutic communication from nurses, and 37 (54.4%) patients showed moderate risk of violent behavior. The results of the analysis by the Gamma ordinal by ordinal test found that there was a significant relationship between therapeutic communication and the risk of violent behavior with p value= 0.001 (<0.05). It showed that the better therapeutic communication applied, the lower of the incidence of violent behavior in schizophrenic patients. Thus it is expected that nurses can practice therapeutic communication techniques to improve the patient's condition so that violent behavior in patients can be reduced.
Dewa GD Putra Jatmika Komang Yogi Triana Ni Komang Purwaningsih ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2020-05-29 2020-05-29 2 1 1 10 10.33088/jkr.v2i1.485 Pengetahuan Ibu dan Pengelolaan Demam Anak di Satu Rumah Sakit Swasta di Indonesia Barat http://jurnal.poltekkes-kemenkes-bengkulu.ac.id/index.php/jkr/article/view/506
Child's fever become a special consideration for mothers because of the adverse effects that arise if the fever is not treated. Mothers can experience anxiety so that independent treatment is the most effort made. Unaccountable information can lead mothers to inappropriate fever management. Preliminary data taken randomly in the outpatient unit showed that 9 out of 15 mothers did not understand the understanding and management of children's fever. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of maternal knowledge about child fever with the management of child fever in a private hospital in Western Indonesia. This descriptive correlational quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach was conducted in February - March 2020. The incidental sampling technique obtained 191 respondents from the initial population ie all child clients in the outpatient unit. Data collection using a questionnaire about maternal knowledge and management of children's fever owned by Widyastuti, 2016 with a content validity index of 0.88. The reliability of the mother's knowledge questionnaire reached Cronbach Alpha 0.527 and the children's fever management questionnaire reached 0.724 with the KR-20 technique. Chi Square analysis showed a significant relationship between mother's knowledge and management of children's fever (p = 0.001). Providing education about comprehensive fever management is very much needed in the outpatient unit setting. The next recommendation is to conduct research to determine the perceptions and attitudes of mothers about child fever and its management.
Adiyat Rachmawati Lia Kartika ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2020-05-29 2020-05-29 2 1 11 20 10.33088/jkr.v2i1.506 Efektifitas Akupresure dalam Menurunkan Skala Nyeri Pasien Hipertensi Diwilayah Kerja Puskesmas Perumnas http://jurnal.poltekkes-kemenkes-bengkulu.ac.id/index.php/jkr/article/view/491
Acupressure is a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients and can be included in the nursing care plan. Hypertension in Indonesia is 44.1% and the mortality rate due to hypertension is 34.1%. Hypertension data in Perumnas Public Health Center are 790 cases. This study aimed to determine the effect of acupressure on pain scales in hypertensive patients. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a sample size of 55 respondents with pre-post intervention. The results showed that there were differences in average pain scores between before and after acupressure intervention. Acupressure can be used to reduce pain better with a p value of 0.001. Acupressure therapy has many functions for physical health, one of which is to reduce acute and chronic pain. Pain occurs due to an imbalance of “qi” energy flow in the body. Acupressure will balance the body's “qi” energy flow so that it will relieve pain while curing diseases. This study recommended that health promotion measures be carried out on families and patients so that they can carry out routine blood pressure measurements and alternative treatments with acupressure therapy to reduce complaints due to hypertension.
Sri Haryani Misniarti Misniarti ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2020-05-29 2020-05-29 2 1 21 30 10.33088/jkr.v2i1.491 Hubungan Pola Asuh Orangtua terhadap Kejadian Obesitas pada Anak Usia Sekolah http://jurnal.poltekkes-kemenkes-bengkulu.ac.id/index.php/jkr/article/view/500
Obesity had known as a condition of excessive levels of fat in a person's body which is can result in the emergence of chronic diseases.
